My name is Ella and I am an NQT primary school teacher from September. I will be teaching a mixed year 5/6 class. I have studied Primary Education at York St.John University for the last three years and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. My subject specialisms at university have been English and SEND. I have gained experience working with year 6, a mixed reception/year 1 class and a year 3/4 class. I have had experience working with children with English as an additional language and found this very enjoyable. Dance and drama have always been my hobbies and I gained experience teaching primary aged children dance and drama. During summer 2019 I was fortunate to gain experience working with young people aged 16-18 during an NCS summer scheme. This included following Flying Futures curriculum to support and lead activities to ensure all young people were safe and enjoying their summer.
What I love about teaching
I think being a teacher is such an amazing job. I love helping children grow and helping them develop their knowledge across the curriculum. I love hearing all the stories that I and the children share to help their imagination expand. It is also great to see children socially grow and to see them playing with their friends. It is lovely to teach children the basics of manners and how to be a kind and polite person within the community. Within my teaching I like to make sure the learning is relatable for the children. It is important to me that I adapt my teaching according to the particular class to ensure they are enjoying their learning in order to be successful. I love the job of teaching as I like to meet lots of new children and parents and I love helping the young people to become the best people they possibly can.
Fun fact about me
A fun fact about me is that I used to be a cheerleader.
