The average child in the UK will spend eleven years of their life at school, so it is hardly a surprise that parents invest so much time and get so anxious about picking and of course getting the right school for their child.
Many factors can play a part in a parents decision making when choosing a school. Knowing where to start with the selection process and deciding which reason to put the biggest emphasis on is often very difficult and can quickly become overwhelming. Parents worry if they are choosing the right school for their child and if they are making the decision based on the right reasons.
With this in mind, we would like to offer our advice on the 4 things we think you should consider when embarking on the selecting a school journey...
Gather your information- What schools are available, what are their recent results/Of stead, what do they specialise in or offer that others don’t?
Your Child and your Family- Location is often key here, but it is also important to think about your child’s personality and interests and what you want the school to do for your child and help them achieve
Visit and Observe- Seeing a school first hand will give you an insight as to whether you could see your child there
Recommendation- Speak to parents of families that already attend the school for some direct feedback on how the school operates day to day. There is nothing better than recommendation!
With all this information we are sure that you will be confident in selecting the right school for your child... and you will be pleased to hear that over the last 2 years, more children throughout the country are getting into their first choice schools than ever before!
