To Powertutors, every student is a superhero waiting to realise their power

Personal budgets and EHCP's

Our dedicated SEN specialist team is here to help pick out the most suitable tutors with the right qualifications to help students with complex SEN needs who have an EHCP.

We are excited to offer tutors to schools under the School-Led grant and help the nation to catch up on the work missed during the pandemic.

School-Led Grants

The School-Led Tutoring Grant is one of the three National Tutoring Pillars available to all academies and state-funded schools in England.

Schools and academy trusts can use the grant to source tutoring and whilst you are expected to prioritise disadvantaged and vulnerable students who need support to catch up with their learning, you also have the flexibility to select pupils who you feel would benefit from additional support.

Schools can choose between using internal teaching staff, sourcing local tutors or giving their students access to online tutoring.

There’s no application process, and the funding is automatic, but schools will be required to complete reporting in the form of this tracker, for the Department for Education which demonstrate how funds are being spent.

What is included?

One-to-One tuition

Small group tuition

In-person tuition

Online tuition

Flexible hours per pupil

Flexible number of subjects per pupil

75% subsidies

Powertutors will help support your schools needs by assigning a designated lead and ensuring that the tutoring is regularly monitored.

Special educational needs (SEN) tutor

At Powertutors, we carefully select our tutors who have the appropriate experience and/or the qualifications to work with children with special educational needs. Our tutors have the appropriate SEN qualification and the majority offer SEN assessments which will allow the tutors to assess the students individually to tailor their teaching techniques to ensure the student reaches their optimum potential.

What we offer to the local authorities

Powertutors team has experience with placing specialist tutors for children with Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCP) or those who need to catch up on the missed work. Our account managers will go through the EHCP in order to understand the specific needs of the student before placing them with a suitable tutor.

Once the student commences his tutoring, the case workers will be sent monthly reports which can be tailored to the student's individual needs.

Education, Home and Care Plan (EHCP)

A number of the children that embark on a home school programme either have or are in the process of obtaining an EHCP. We already successfully support a number of these families that are under Surrey and Hampshire Council.

Completing and embedding an EHCP can be daunting and time consuming. Powertutors have team members who specialise in this process and can guide you through it.

Every child has unique challenges and learns at a different pace, using different learning styles. Powertutors have tutors that are trained to understand this and have experience in how best to help your child reach their full potential and build brilliance.
